Onboarding More Practitioners to the AUN-QA Assessment Process: 23rd AUN-QA Tier 1 Training

The AUN-QA Training Course for Accomplishing Programme Assessment, Version 4.0, otherwise more commonly referred to as AUN-QA Tier 1 Training, has conducted its 23rd run of introducing participants into the systems of AUN-QA. This time, it was conducted in Bangkok, Thailand on 11 - 14 March 2025 with trainers that are heavily involved in many aspects of AUN-QA. A carefully selected roster of coaches for AUN-QA Trainings are to ensure that participants will be fully capable of the following:

  1. Describe the AUN-QA programme assessment process
  2. Explain each of the AUN-QA criteria for programme assessment
  3. Apply the AUN-QA requirements to an academic programme
  4. Perform a gap analysis for programme improvement

For the 23rd AUN-QA Tier 1 Training, the lead coach was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Kay Chuan, who recently received the AUN Master Quality Award, is one of AUN-QA pioneers and a long standing personnel for decades. He was well supported with two more coaches who are also deeply rooted in AUN-QA history and activities. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ornsiri Cheunsuang has been involved in many AUN-QA Programme Assessments, and her experience as a lead assessor proved valuable in guiding new trainees. 

Prof. Dr. Arnulfo P. Azcarraga, Ph.D., has been a part of AUN-QA for many years, and is often integral to refining the network’s core systems and frameworks, with his recent work being the team leader of AUN-QA’s recently published Revised IQA Framework. His in depth knowledge of the workings behind AUN-QA will be crucial in training the participants.
