On September 27, 2023, the AUN/SEED-Net Secretariat met with the ASEAN Engineering Journal (AEJ) editorial team at Penerbit Press at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to discuss journal management. The team was led by the Chief Editor, Prof. Norhazilan Md Noor, along with Ms. Hairunnisa Binti Yunos and Ms. Hapizah Mohamad.

The discussion yielded positive results, meeting the Secretariat’s expectations for long-term management improvement. One of its ultimate goals is to encourage the growth of AEJ both within and outside the AUN network through collaboration.

After the productive meeting, Prof. Norhazilan conducted a brief tour of the UTM campus. The campus has beautiful greenery with facilities for academic and residential purposes. The Secretariat visited the School of Civil Engineering to congratulate Ybrs. Prof. Madya Suhaimi bin Abu Bakar on becoming the new Dean from October 1, 2023.

AEJ (eISSN: 2586-9159) is included in prestigious databases such as SCOPUS, the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI), the Thai Citation Index (TCI), and GOOGLE SCHOLAR. The journal was launched with the support of the JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net in 2011, with its ownership being transferred in 2021 to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This was done to continue the valuable work of AUN/SEED-Net and further contribute to the sustainable network. Currently, AEJ publishes full academic papers covering 10 different engineering fields. A double-blind peer review system is adopted to ensure the transparency and integrity of the review process. For more information, please visit https://journals.utm.my/aej/
