As the sun set over the pristine waters of Phuket, where Workshop on Quality Standardization in University’s ICT System and Management took place, I was surrounded by an eclectic mix of individuals who had gathered to witness this breathtaking sight. Some came in groups, others as couples, and some even alone, but we all shared one thing in common - we were there to experience something beautiful. And just like this sunset, digital transformation in ASEAN universities can also be a beautiful and transformative experience, unlocking new opportunities and possibilities for higher education in the region.

To achieve effective digital transformation in ASEAN universities, prioritizing data security and fostering collaboration among institutions is crucial. One way to do this is by developing a regional standard for operation and software management in universities' ICT centers, which can improve efficiency, reliability, and user experiences. By sharing best practices and knowledge, universities in ASEAN can learn from each other and accelerate their own digital transformation journeys. The Workshop on Quality Standardization in University's ICT System and Management, organized by Prince of Songkhla, ASEAN University Network, in collaboration with ISEM, on 23 - 27 March 2023, offered an excellent opportunity for ASEAN universities to collaborate and develop regional standards for operation and software management in ICT centers, promoting equity and fairness in the higher education sector.

But digital transformation is not just about technology - it is also about people. Embracing innovation and investing in digital literacy is key to keeping pace with the constantly evolving landscape of technology. Universities must continually explore new tools and technologies that can help them better serve their stakeholders. By leveraging these innovations, universities can increase their efficiency, reduce their costs, and ultimately improve the quality of their services. As such, it is crucial for universities to create an environment that fosters innovation and experimentation, and to provide training and professional development opportunities that enable staff to build their digital skills and knowledge. This will not only benefit the institution, but also provide staff with valuable skills that they can use throughout their careers.

To progress as a network, universities must also continue collaborating and sharing their knowledge and experiences beyond the workshop itself. Ongoing communication channels, such as online forums and social media groups, can provide participants with a platform to exchange ideas, ask questions, and provide feedback to one another. This will help to create a community of practice around digital transformation in ASEAN universities, providing ongoing support and resources to institutions as they continue to develop and refine their digital systems.

In conclusion, the Workshop on Quality Standardization in University's ICT System and Management was an important event that brought together universities from across ASEAN to collaborate and develop regional standards for digital transformation. By prioritizing data security, fostering collaboration, and embracing innovation and digital literacy, universities can stay ahead of the curve and provide the best possible services to their stakeholders. As the world becomes increasingly digital, it is essential that higher education institutions in ASEAN continue to adapt and transform in order to remain competitive and meet the evolving needs of their stakeholders.
