We promised there is more to tell, and we sure do have it! Once again, this year AUN-QA is back with the International Conference taking place on 6 - 7 September 2023 after a hiatus since 2019 due to the COVID pandemic. This time we have ASEAN’s most experienced assessors and experts that are eager to talk about all things successful in the process of quality assurance. Whether it be successful methods, success stories, or plans forward, come hear it all on how to bring out the best in your assessments!

This week, we have three more agenda topics to reveal throughout both days of the event. First, on 6 September, we have the topic of “Quality Assurance & World Class Curriculum Delivery: Unleashing the Synergy''. This session will aim to shed light on the crucial role of quality assurance in promoting student mobility and facilitating the globalization of academic standards. The CALOHEA project will be making a prominent appearance, as we will have three coordinators for each of the three Subject Area Groups of the project:

  1. Civil Engineering: Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia
  2. Teacher Education: Richard R. Jugar, PhD, Dean of School of Education, University of San Carlos
  3. Medicine: Muhamad Saiful Bahri Yusoff, PhD, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia

Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ornsiri Cheunsuang, AUN-QA Lead Assessor, Chulalongkorn University

On the same day, the topic of “The Catalyst of Success: Leadership at the Core of Quality Assurance Enhancement in Universities” will be making headway into the conference with three AUN-QA Council Members Yu Un Oppusunggu, PhD, Prof. Eddy Chong Siong Choy, PhD, Maria Resurreccion P. Alejo, PhD, and the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, M.A., and moderated by Prof. Wan Ahmad Kamil Mahmood, PhD, Special Advisor to the AUN Executive Director. Here our speakers will elaborate on how leadership is a powerful catalyst for driving university excellence in Quality Assurance. Points that will be discussed are key characteristics and qualities of effective leadership, the creation of a quality assurance culture within institutions, great strategies and approaches for leaders, the impact of a leader’s engagement and support towards QA enhancement, all topped off with some real examples of successful leadership practices.

For the last topic we have to reveal for this week, it will be taking place on the second day, 7 September. This topic is “AUN-QA IQA Design and Development: Recent Successes and Ways Forward”, where we will have speakers to come share their experiences, insights, and key takeaways contributing to the redesign of an effective IQA for ASEAN Higher Education Institutions from their participation during the AUN-IQAS workshop. This session will be having three resource personnel from the workshop:
