Preparing for any Emergencies: AUN Secretariat Equips Staff with Life-Saving Skills to Protect Student Safety

The AUN Secretariat has taken a bold step in prioritizing safety by conducting a Basic Life Support training for non-health care providers among its staff showcasing AUN's unwavering commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of students amidst increasing mobility programs and the potential risks that come with them. The recent training was aimed at equipping AUN staff with the necessary skills to respond to emergencies and provide life-saving measures in times of crisis.

As we transition towards a post-pandemic era, there is an increased demand for mobility programmes. The responsibilities that come with bringing students to a whole new environment associate risks. Hence, the AUN Secretariat has taken a different approach by placing students' safety at the forefront of its operations. It has developed a comprehensive risk management framework that covers a wide range of potential risks, from natural disasters to political instability. The Basic Life Support training is just one of the many measures implemented to ensure the safety of students participating in mobility programmes.

During the training, the AUN staff were trained by the certified team of paramedics and imparted with a wealth of knowledge and expertise that equip them to handle emergency situations with swift action and sound judgment. The training covered essential areas such as emergency first aid, fundamental principles of CPR, and a crucial segment on automated external defibrillators (AEDs) usage, all of which provided invaluable insights for the staff. In addition, the training also delved into the intricate techniques of rescuing individuals from situations such as choking on food, snake bites, and severe bleeding. The AUN Secretariat's commitment to ensuring student safety is evident in its proactive approach towards risk management and safety measures.
