The ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture (AUN-EEC), together with Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and the University of the Philippine Diliman (UPD), spearheaded an AUN-EEC annual conference via Zoom. The conference entitled “Ecological Education and Culture: Looking Back, Looking Forward” transpired from September 14 to 15, 2022. The conference intended to bring together experts from all over ASEAN universities to elucidate discourses on sustainable practices, ecological education, and youth advocacy on climate justice toward the ‘new normal’.

The 3rd ASEAN University Network-ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum: Thailand Chapter has successfully been held through the corporations of our five AUN Core Member Universities. The forum is noted as a pioneer of its kind in spearheading the propagation of ASEAN cultural performances and heritage onto the international stage of the ASEAN region and beyond.

The 2nd Focus Group Meeting of AUN/SEED-Net Transitional Plan took place last month on 18 August. The meeting was to inform the concrete transitional plan after reaching a consensus among concerned parties. In the on-going process of Phase 4 of the AUN/SEED-Net project, there are 7 active programs and achievements, all of which respond to the objectives of this 5 year period. The objective of the 2nd Focus Group Meeting was to collect opinions from AUN Member Universities regarding the programs that will be implemented during years of the transitional period throughout 2023 to 2026.

The first half of September passes through with AUN-QA having provided three more quality assurance services to ASEAN higher educations in the 292nd, 293rd, and 294th AUN-QA Programme Assessments, respectively at University of St. La Salle Inc. (USLS), Thai Nguyen University, and Universitas Sam Ratulangi.

The 2022 APEC Youth Voices Matter Speaking Contest held on 31 August 2022 at Mahidol University has significantly shown that the youths of ASEAN are in constant engagement to Open, Connect, and Balance to build a better more inclusive world for the future. Their notable speeches reflected solutions to address increasingly critical various economic, environmental, and social issues.

The final destinations of the AUN-QA journey in Viet Nam were official meetings between AUN-QA and four Member Universities held to explore the current Quality Assurance (QA) prospects. Four sessions took place at each university, namely Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Foreign Trade University (FTU) in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi respectively.
