The 17th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education (SOM-ED) was convened on 11 October 2022, followed by the 12th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Officials Meeting on Education (SOM-ED+3) on 12 October 2022. The agendas presented by the AUN Secretariat at the 17th SOM-ED meeting were the results of the 37th AUN Board of Trustees Meeting and the progress of ASEAN Master in Sustainability Management Programme. Subsequently, the updates on regional Projects and Activities in support of the ASEAN Work Plan of Education (AWPE) 2021-2025 and the ASEAN Plus Three Plan of Action (APT PoA) on Education 2018-2025 were presented during the 12th SOM-ED+3 Meeting.

The Japan-ASEAN online program toward UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) jointly organized by Okayama University, SUN/SixERS, and AUN held from 11 - 14 October 2022, successfully gathered over 70 participants from all across the ASEAN region and Japan. The success of the event is wholly attributed to the exemplary learning design and the cross-border platform that allow for insightful interaction among students and educators from different countries, backgrounds, educational expertise, and world views to become excellent citizens of the 21st century.

During the 37th AUN-BOT Meeting, Dr. Jenny Elmaco, a representative from EURAXESS, introduced an overview of considerable calls and opportunities for worldwide researchers from EURAXESS, Horizon Europe, and the European Research Council. This article will outline these three significant platforms and share some of the highlights from Dr. Jenny Elmaco's presentation in order to forward such extraordinary opportunities for researchers in ASEAN.

On 10 October 2022, the UK-Southeast Asia Partnerships and Exchanges Baseline Research (UK-SEA PEER), in partnership with researchers from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, Lingnan University of Hong Kong, Fukuyama City University of Japan, SEAMEO Centre for Vocational and Technical Education and Training, Chulalongkorn University, the Asia-Europe Foundation, and ASEAN University Network (AUN), hosted a hybrid conference and a roundtable dialogue discussion on the past, current, and future of the UK-SEA research partnerships under the theme of “Co-creating Alternative and Sustainable Futures of UK-East Asia Partnerships.” A lot of participants from different universities and research institutions from the United Kingdom and ASEAN+3 countries gathered to learn more about the current state of research and innovation and how they can integrate, reorient, and align the existing agreements, as well as their visions, into the ongoing and future research and innovation partnerships.

The Asian Network is a new generation of leaders creating change and impact with the vision of becoming the first community of leaders in Asia working to build a more inclusive and sustainable future and to empower the next generation of leaders. The organization is committed to inspiring people through virtual and in-person events across a dynamic and developing Asia, with more than 450 members across 25 countries in Asia.

At the 37th AUN Board of Trustees Meeting, Jayant N. Khobragade, Ambassador of the Republic of India to ASEAN presented to the meeting regarding ASEAN and India’s continued relationship that has reached its 30th Anniversary. For 30 years, ASEAN and India have cooperated together to form a very close partnership in order to continue providing student exchange programs and sharing of knowledge.
